This Privacy Policy explains what information Couple Therapy Guide ("we") collects when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- Information you give us — for example, your email address when you subscribe to a newsletter, or the contents of a message you send us.
- Usage data collected automatically — such as pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring pages. This is used in aggregate to understand what content is useful.
- Cookies and similar technologies — small files used to run the site and, where you allow it, to measure traffic.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website and its content.
- To send the newsletters you have specifically requested, and to let you unsubscribe at any time.
- To respond to messages, corrections, and questions you send us.
- To keep the site secure and to comply with legal obligations.
Sensitive topics
The pages you read here may concern personal relationship and mental-health topics. We do not build profiles that identify you by the specific health articles you read, and we do not use that information for advertising. Please also be mindful of your own device and browsing history if your safety depends on privacy.
If you are in an unsafe relationship, remember that browsing history can be visible to others who use your device. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) offers guidance on browsing safely.
Analytics and third parties
We use privacy-respecting analytics and standard hosting infrastructure to run the site. These providers process limited technical data on our behalf under their own terms and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies are needed for the site to function. Any non-essential (analytics) cookies are used only where permitted, and you can control cookies through your browser settings. Declining non-essential cookies will not stop you from reading our content.
Data retention
We keep newsletter and contact information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose you gave it, or until you ask us to delete it. Aggregate, non-identifying usage data may be retained to understand long-term trends.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to opt out of certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@coupletherapyguide.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children
The site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date below reflects the current version. Questions or requests can be sent to privacy@coupletherapyguide.com.
